Was the "Great Chicago Fire" the result of a deliberate attack from crypto-terrestrial or breakaway civilization airships? Was it the wrath of God delivered onto a city that was filled with debauched fiends? What's certain is that the truth of the Great Chicago Fire has been suppressed by our vile elites, perhaps because it was their own horrendous crime.
First, we must establish that the given narrative is unreliable or incomplete. The most obvious clue we have is the total lack of a fire signature on many of the buildings and rubble. History tells us a *firestorm* erupted in Chicago, but we see little sign among the ruins. We even see white paper signs untouched by flames.
We see many examples of jaunty, unidentified men posing amid the destruction, but no scorch marks as you would expect to see from intense flames that “melted the hardest building stone, which had previously been considered fire-proof. Iron, glass, and granite were fused and run together into grotesque conglomerates, as if they had been put through a blast furnace. No kind of material could stand its breath for a moment.”
Of course, there were some fires but those would have been secondary. Many trees still stand next to pulverized buildings, retaining their finer branches, some even with leaves.
To me, these images look no different than photos of Dresden’s bombed-out buildings.
Here we see a building with scorch marks that only prove my point, secondary conventional fires occurred, but not even enough to strip the leaves off nearby trees.
“The intensity of the heat may be judged, and the thorough combustion of everything wooden may be understood, when we state that in the yard of one of the large agricultural-implement factories was stacked some hundreds of tons of pig-iron. This iron was two hundred feet from any building. To the south of it was the river, one hundred and fifty feet wide. No large building but the factory was in the immediate vicinity of the fire. Yet, so great was the heat, that this pile of iron melted and run, and is now in one large and nearly solid mass” [Ibid 121].
”the fire came from the air above, more than from the earth. It swept along in detached clouds borne with a tornado-like fury. The clouds of fire would be swept along in waving masses of different sizes. A man describes one of these clouds as of 40 feet in size each way. Whatever he saw it touch, the object, tree or house, wilted directly down. These clouds of fire usually touched the tops of the tallest houses first, when the building would burn down as if saturated with kerosene. It seems as if the air was charged with clouds of fire.”
”An ominous roaring sound was first heard, then balls of fire like meteors fell in different parts of the town, igniting whatever they touched… Shortly after a horrible tornado enveloped everything in fire, smoke, hot sand, and cinders… The storm was a flame borne by a hurricane, accompanied by electrical sparks and electricity, which flashed in the air, and darted over the whole earth.”
Balls of fire or “fire balloons” are repeatedly mentioned in Chicago and Peshtigo accounts, in each instance various explanations are offered, from waterspouts, or airborne globs of industrial chemicals, to the tops of burning trees blown down from the intense wind. Anything other than “falling from the sky” as every witness attested.
We have Wikipedia boldly lying with the claim that Chicago was a wooden hovel when it was clearly a noble metropolis of stone, brick, and wrought iron.
It was well known throughout the world that Chicago was a well-developed city with a fire department and infrastructure that rivaled London or New York. An excerpt from the London Times states:
We have mentioned of houses levitating into the air. There are exceedingly brief mentions that this was a numerously reported effect of the “fire”. ‘Oh yes, many witnesses saw levitating houses.’ It is startling to me how “historians” just disregard testimony without even invalidating it. It’s as if they are compelled to mention these things by some mysterious ghost of conscience.
“They say that two opposite currents or air apparently struck the house which was 16 by 24 feet and carried it bodily into the air, they think about 100 feet. In the air it burst into flames and in a few minutes was entirely destroyed. The house was not on fire when it left the ground. The inference is that the tornado and fire were accompanied by electrical phenomena”
We have early incarnations of debunking articles, struggling to explain why houses well outside the path of flames would suddenly explode. It is interesting to note that at the time it was necessary to address these anomalies in terms of the witnessed electrical phenomena, which would later be totally suppressed.
These articles were issued forth over the following months to combat the growing consensus that the fire had originated in the atmosphere and was electrical in nature. The Yorkshire Herald and the York Herald, 11th of November, 1871—
”The several accounts furnished by the American papers show that the fires burst forth with spontaneity at the same time in a hundred widely separated places and that balls of fire were observed to fall like meteors in different parts. The inhabitants of Chicago say they saw electrical flames flash in the air and dance on the surface of the earth, all which tends to confirm the supposition of atmospheric influence.”
One indication that the "fire" may have been somehow directed is here, house of Mahlon D. Ogden, a real estate tycoon. According to reports, the "fire hurricane" suddenly veered away from his mansion, leaving it the only structure standing on this side of town.
Above is the Mahlon D. Ogden Mansion After the 1871 Great Chicago Fire. Not even the fence was scorched.
This detail is taken from a photograph of the other side of the M. D. Ogden residence. Stone, apparently pulverized by extreme heat, next to a wooden fence.
Amazing coincidence once you realize who he’s related to. His brother, William B. Ogden—first mayor of Chicago, advisor to Abraham Lincoln, and one of the most important railroad executives of the 19th century.
— he was a fan of mysterious hand signs and, let's just assume, a member of some Masonic/Rosicrucian order. There are some mysterious details about his life, but he is the “cleanest” politician I’ve ever looked at. This was an almost life-long bachelor— the guy that built Chicago, a city reminiscent of a 19th century Zdzisław Beksiński painting from the perspective of the working class under his management, yet there are only one or two extant tales of his indiscretions. Must be nice to have your own personal fiefdom.
So far we have a picture of some kind of atmospheric anomaly, but the obnubilation caused me to delve deeper into the story. That is when I found this testimony by Reverend Peter Pernin:
"When the [fire] hurricane burst upon us, many, surprised and terrified, ran out to see what was the matter. A number of these persons assert that they then witnessed a phenomenon which may be classed with the marvelous. They saw a large black object, resembling a balloon, which object revolved in the air with great rapidity, advancing above the summits of the trees towards a house which it seemed to single out for destruction. Barely had it touched the latter when the balloon burst with a loud report, like that of a bombshell, and, at the same moment, rivulets of fire streamed out in all directions.”
This revolving action is described elsewhere.
Chicago Evening Post, 16th of November, 1871—
“while large balls of fire were revolving and bursting in every direction, igniting everything they came in contact with; …There can be no doubt that the air charged with electricity helped on the work of destruction and death… Mr. A. Kirby says he saw large bodies or balls of fire in the air and when they came in contact with anything they would bound thirty or forty rods away. Others testify that they saw large clouds of fire burst into fragments and in some instances, great tongues of fire like lightning would issue from these dark clouds and light upon the buildings. [in a number of accounts witnesses relate that buildings seemed to be targeted] Pennies were melted in the pockets of persons who were but little burned. A small bell upon an engine and a new stove both standing from twenty to forty feet from any building were melted.”
Nearly every single North American city had a major or "Great" fire over a 150-year period. All of them with strange anomalies on the order of what I described in this thread. No one has done a deep dive on all of the fires, there is as yet only surface-level speculation fielded toward the “meta-conspiracy”.
They all have similar ad hoc / post hoc cover stories. In the aftermath of each event is an economic/political reset. Despite the fact that these fires occurred over the span of a century, no effective precautions were put into place.
After the Great Fires there is always a huge reduction in titles as many small title holders are ruined. Oligarchs swoop in, buy them out, and quickly redevelop.
Chicago was rebuilt at an astonishing speed that was remarked upon by contemporary sources as "miraculous". But it wasn't miraculous at all, it was because the fire had carefully avoided nearly all vital systems... such as the railroads.
Of course, most of the insurance policies were destroyed in the fire so there was no recompense for many of the middle-class business owners. On top of that, new fire codes made rebuilding prohibitively expensive for all but the richest of Chicago's citizens. These developments changed Chicago and Peshtigo forever, bearing a mark that has only grown more indelible with time.
We will be continuing this series in an effort to uncover the meta-conspiracy behind this. Perhaps it is just robber barons demolishing a middle class that had grown too prosperous, but what of their seeming ability to direct these strange plasma storms? Did they simply have foreknowledge of these catastrophes or could they summon them somehow? These are the questions I will answer.
This is far and away the best blog I’ve discovered in quite some time! Excellent research, writing and presentation. These “great fires” bring up similar questions to the strange and hard to believe stories surrounding the World Fairs, and the monumental financial and logistical tasks of both building and destroying the buildings for the events. The more one looks into the details behind these events, the more questions arise about the accepted historical narratives we’ve been told about this country and the people and forces who have shaped its creation.
This one is great! I would love to read more about this in future entries. You briefly mention some connections to breakaway civilizations with strange technologies. I would love to read more posts where you tug at these loose ends, perhaps in relation to other anomalies in history.
